About to put my Procede in this weekend - are there things to be worried about?

I am just about to put in my Procede this weekend.... I just had my Dinan Stage 2 taken out today.

I have been reading a lot about issues that show up once the Procede goes in - injectors issues showing up because of larger fuel demands, fuel pump failures, engine lights coming on... this is worrying me a bit.

Some of the posts, the car is awesome for 4 or so WOT pulls and then bam limp mode and your hauling the car to the dealer with injector issues.

I wanted to ask the Procede community if this happens to a select few, or a lot of us. Do the vast majority of the people just install it and the car works flawlessly?

Congratulations on removing Dinan. You will enjoy the procede 1000x more. The tune will not cause injector or HPFP issues. That being said, if there is a part on the brink of failure, Id be willing to bet a tune (or even driving very aggressively) may accelerate that failure. But basically, you should not have any issues. Most folks install their tunes, and drive off. Yes the car does work flawlessly

Thanks... no guarantees of course.. I understand.

It cost me $150 bucks to remove the code.... they were estimating 2 to 3 hours to remove Dinan, but it came in just over an hour - at $133/hour. I got lucky, the tech was really good.

Car certainly is pulling a lot less now with the Dinan out, but I was actually surprised at how fast the stock car was.. or how little the Dinan did. I guess I will see on Sunday when I get the Procede in - Dinan to procede comparison - no other mods.

So you overpaid for dinan and paid again to remove it - ouch. I doubt it was the tech as he had very little to do with the re-programming of your ECU besides plugging the odb2 connector from the programmer to your car Either way, enjoy the car and good luck with your install.

I hear you... I was "thrilled" about it too.. I can't wait to get all the stuff done in the signature.

Be patient with the ecu cables. I placed stickies on the large and small sub-connectors to note where the black one and gray one goes for both. It's very easy to forget after you matched the cables to the PROcede and then have to slide the cables back into the sub-connector.

If this is your first time, I would be extremely careful with the green thing that holds the power connector. It took me a long time for the green thing to come out, but after the first removal, subsequent removals and installations became a breeze.

Don't use too much force when connecting the PRocede power supply line to the stock one. And, I would be careful with putting electrical tape on them. When I did, I had problems removing the tape and ended up breaking the PROcede power connector. I had to send it back to Vishnu to have it repaired.

Just worry about getting in trouble after the proceed goes in. You know the crazy burn outs because of the extra HP, smoking v8s just to get a OMG/WTF look from them, going 0-60 in under 5 secs from a stop light just to be pulled over in under 5 secs by a police officer (hate it when they hide). Just install and enjoy the extra HP.

Only thing I worry about is going too fast. Happens real easy with the Procede installed.

So if you wait until your warranty expires to install procede and your engine blows up, you have no warranty coverage and you pay out of pocket for repairs.

But, if you install procede now while your warranty is still active, and your engine blows up, you have no warranty coverage and you pay out of pocket for repairs.

Other than being able to enjoy your procede earlier, while your car is fresher and has less mileage, what's the concern? Risk seems to be the same in either situation.

I waited for warranty to end in case they denied OTHER warranty issues....

I am not reading about blown engines anywhere... I am reading about fuel injectors, fuel pumps and that kind of thing.... those issues plague are car and may or may not be brought to the surface with the Procede. I consider the Procede very mature, and well tested - or I wouldn't have done it. That said, I am worried about fuel problems showing up after this.

Anyway, I have someone that has installed quite a few Procedes doing this for me and I will watch and do some and take pictures. Today !! I can't wait for that, my DCI, and my CDV delete.

Monday, AMS FMIC and AMS Catless DPs.... I may not sleep tonight.....PUMPED !!

Any tune that increases fuel usage would potentially illuminate issues with an ailing fuel pump. It doesn't matter if what tune (your Dinan included). Stop being a sissy and put install that bad boy.

I'm running the 2/14 beta maps with no issues whatsoever. You can ask any other san Diego members, I push my car hard as hell and commute on map 2 at 15 psi. My drive to work includes many long sleepers and a long straight on which I will hit 100 from a dead stop every morning.

If you are apprehensive, run the earlier non beta maps.
