need negotiating advice on ED 330
BTW, thanks in advance for any assistance. This board is great. It has been an extremely valuable source of information.
I am planning on ordering a ED 330 this week and need some advice from those of you that may have done this already. Although I have not entered the actual negotiations, the dealer is indicating that ED prices are a non-negotiable, take it or leave it offer. Is this true from your experiences? I noticed some previous posts where you guys have gotten deals $1200-$1500 above the ED invoice price. Given the invoices prices I downloaded from this site, that is a significant difference in price! Intend to order a 330, premium, sport, blk int w/alum trim Still undecided: Idrive, CWP, and ext color (Saph Blk or SG) Thanks again! Last edited by pete330; 05-09-2005 at 12:10 AM.. |

I got 1200 above invoice and the real way to get that is to let the dealers know that you are working with more than one dealer. Just give them an offer of 500-1000 above invoice and let them know you are working with x, y, and z dealers and the first one that gives you the best price is going to get the deal. I could have gotten lower than 1200 above, but i knew that this dealship was worth a little extra premium because of better service. Take that into consideration as well. Good luck in your negotions. Go ahead and do it over the phone as well so you dont get stuck with some b.s.

Thanks for the advice! I already briefly spoke to another dealer, so this should play out nicely.
BTW, the invoice price list I downloaded from e90post.com earlier, is this 100% accurate? |

Check the European Delivery section over at Bimmerfest.com (no offense to the board but they've been at this a long time) and ask about ED friendly dealers in the Chicago area.
No CWP? In Chcago? Are you nuts?? The fold-down seats are a REALLY good idea. Trust me now, believe me later. Heated seats seem to be a no brainer in Chicago...so the package gets you headlight washers for only $25 more. Almost every dealer starts out by saying they can't negotiate on the ED price. You'll get $1000 over invoice with a little effort. Don't be afraid to order the car from a different part of Illinois....it'll be a fun drive home from the dealer!

Also, you need to refer to places like the bimmerfest.com ED forum to maybe find a dealer that is more experienced with ED. It sounds like the dealer you spoke to isn't because those that are know the car isn't coming out of their allocation and know that the typical price for it is $1500 over invoice or so. |

Awesome advice everybody.
I am actually moving to Texas in a couple months (hence the indecision on CWP) and am going to attempt to play off the dealer here against the one down there. I already determined the sales tax/registration implications, which actually turn out to be negligible. I am getting on the bimmerfest forums now to check out friendly dealers. Again, thanks. I am extremely excited about this. I have missed my M3 for a while now, but I have a feelin that void is about to be filled. BTW, any opinions on the color options? I am also considering Jet Blk. |

Yeah I negotiated between here in California and North Carolina, since im moving there in August. The 3% tax there is much better than the 8.25% here. The negotiations were very simple and getting a lil over $1000 over invoice is pretty easy.

Talk to Chris Roehm at Motor Werks in Barrington, Illinois. Ask for $500 over Euro Del Dealer Invoice. Settle for $750 over Euro Del Dealer Invoice.
If you lease see my posts here about this.

$750 sounds pretty awesome. I think I'm gonna go ahead and ask my dealer for a set of rubber floor mats and the aluminum pedals/footrest now.
