There's nothing like buying a brand new car.

Wait, Now I saw a video, it looks like the passenger sensor is different from the drivers side one? Is this correct? Is mine normal?

Passenger side one twists and locks, driver side one just snaps onto a tab.

If something is broken, it could've also been BMW techs looking into the ECU for a tune.

There was a thread by an owner a while ago who taped up his sensor just like that, but if I remember correctly he sold the car back to BMW because his engine was acting funny after running 25 psi daily...

Just messing with you. I wouldn't worry about it, looks like it works fine. You can bring it up with BMW next time you're in for service

The tech broke one of my clips on that sensor so just because it has been molested doesn't mean it was from an owner.

it looks normal to me...the tape holds the sensor the the black bar which connects to the car. you can take off the tape and look at the sensor to seee if anything is damaged, but i think my car looks the same

100% normal. Like mentioned that is the connector for the alarm. Your car doesnt have the alarm so there is just a plug in it. Its supposed to be taped up.

you can tell that is still factory -- just examine the rest of the tape material used on the looms.. fabric tape is standard issue -- looks kosher to me

Looks normal. Keep in mind even BMW techs can break stuff. My car is missing one of the allen bolts on the engine cover (the one in the back) after being in for service when they did the spark plugs.

Just keep thinking CPO, as long as you didn't mess with it and cause it to break, they will pretty much fix it for free, and wash it when they are done too!!!

X...

When I was first considering doing a tune i popped open my hood to see how difficult it would be. That's when I noticed that I had some broken clips, and the "flaps" weren't put back right and my first reaction was that someone had modded it. But then I remembered that I had the HPFP issue and it was possible that as the tech was putting it in, somewhere along the lines he had to go through all that.. Or at least that I am aware of, I brought it in, talked with my service tech, and they replaced everything under warranty. It could have just been a mistake by a tech who worked on your car.
