That five-speed auto in the Nissan mostlikely was the difference as the ratios are larger due to the lack of a sixth gear

The 335i was all over the G35 on the last lap. If the race was a lap or two longer, and the guy driving the 335i maintained a better line on a couple of turns, it clearly would've came out ahead in the positioning. The sector times prove it as well
