Phone "ringer" volume

Is there some way I can reduce the volume of the tone that announces an incoming phone call? I have a Blackberry 9700. Ive tried adjusting the volume on the Blackberry and I've tried setting the volume on the car.
When the damn thing rings, its so loud I have to peel myself off the ceiling.

IIRC the volume is adjusted by turning the radio's volume knob *as the phone's ringing*.I know that that's the way to adjust the volume of the "computer lady's" voice...as she's speaking.Give it a try...it can't hurt.

i had the exact same problem before! and it went away one day. im not sure if u can do it by when soemone calls turn the knob on the steering wheel or the radio if it would work, but mine is at a perfect volume now which does not annoy the crap out of me. another forum member informed me to turn the knob when the ring comes, ive tried it, but im not sure if it worked right away or after a restart of the car.

good luck!

Had the same heart attack myself when the phone would ring. You have to turn the volume down (I used the radio volume knob) while the phone is actually ringing.

Worked!
Thanks for the quick replies.
This is how I got the Nav voice to pipe down. Feeling kinda dumb that I didn't think of it for the phone!
