E93 Owner with Spring Drop

I need some advice. I'm looking at some 19" rims and need to consider my options for a "drop". I know most people out here support coilovers, but i simply can't justify the cost as they only add a small level of adjustability in ride height. are there options for a simple spring solution.

sure...

but here's the problem. i've noticed that the rear of the car, on stock suspension, sits lower than the front. h&r sport springs seem to drop the car lower in the rear than the front as well on the e93.

do you have pictures of your e93 dropped on lowering springs and what are you using? i hear that the eibach sport springs are perfect for this car, so please show me what you have on that as well.

thanks in advance for your help... this has me perplexed.

from an e93 owner to another.

you can't justify it at this point in time, but i garuntee that if you go and buy springs and put it on this car...you'll regret it and understand why everyone here supports coilovers.

from my experience, the e93 is 4-500 lbs heavier using the SAME suspension system (shocks/springs). if you put springs only, its not only going to deteriate your ride quality even faster, but your car is going to sag in the rear.

i went coilovers, not because to lower only, but to take out my existing suspension as i find it wasn't made for the e93. what you are doing is taking the awful suspension you have, and making it worse. you'll hate the ride quality after 6 months.

but, its your car, do what you will.

I appreciate your perspective... but did you use e93 specific spring or springs made for e92 weight... and what coilovers are you running now?

okay, after some more reading on the messageboard here, i think i'm going to spring for coilovers.

the question now is which one? i see most people doing the kw variants or bilstein... are there any other ones?

which kits actually have springs designed for the heavier payload in the rear?

can anyone assist me here?

If you're after custom spring rates, AST coilovers with swift springs sound right up your alley.
You can choose your spring load, therefore can have the rear riding stiffer ie higher, if that's what you want.

AST is overkill and over his budget.

Supreme power is offering a killer deal on Pss9s for 1250. they are old design, but solid quality.
