E90 335i, can front diffuser be removed?

Can this be removed without messing up the bumper?

It can be removed but I was told you have to remove the bumper cover first. I will switch mine on my E91 (they come in black and I want 330 look silver). I don't know if you can just remove them without putting anything else instead since I haven't done it yet.

Then remove your bumper cover:

And see if you can remove the finisher rods.

You don't have to take the bumper off; but you can't leave the finishing rods entirely off. There is a rail that they attach to that is on the mesh part...it would look strange. To remove them, lift them UP so I they are angled up relative to the grill mesh, then pull out. I replaced my "silver" finishing rods with the black ones that come stock on the 325.

Not bad...but is that just after taking off the rods or did you put new mesh in there? I mean, people were saying something about mesh not being behind the rods after taking it off or something.
