Question TCU reprogramming

I started to get the SOS Inactive Error. The dealer told me that they needed to "reprogram" the TCU which would not be covered under the warranty.. Does anybody here know what is involved with "reprogramming" the TCU? Thank You

I have reprogrammed the TCU to the latest software revision, it takes about 30-45 minutes.

The SOS inactive error can be coded no problem without a full reprogram. Which only takes about 15-20 minutes.
