The car before the E9X 3-series...

As I move on to the bimmer, I started thinking about the times I had with my current car... so I thought it might be interesting to start a thread about the cars we had right before our 3-series'.

2001 Volvo S60 T5 - loved it because it was unique, understated, but could get going when it had to. Stock it had ~250HP at the crank, with the tune I ran ~17PSI and with all the standard bolt-ons it probably had ~320HP. This thing was fantastic on the highway and had no problems burying 330s from the same time period (in a straight line).

The car never left me stranded on the road and for that I'll always be thankful. When the transmission blew, it still got me to my drive way. When the spring collapsed, it collapsed overnight in the driveway.

Torque from the BMW I6 is great to have, but there are days I really miss those screaming runs to 8000 rpm.

I drove a 00 E46 328i for 8yr before getting the 08 E92 335. And before the E46, I have a 98 Volvo S70 T5. The volvo is the worst car I ever have, I really hate to drive that tank so I traded it in for the E46 with huge loss! I usually keep a car for at least 6yr. I rather drove my other car (92 Civic) than the POS volvo. Why I got the volvo in the first place... because I thought volvo will be better to ride my new born baby than the civic!

Traded in my C5 Z06 to gift the BMW to the wife....killed 2 birds with one stone. She got the car she wanted and was happy and I got to upgrade to my C6 Z06

Been in 3 Bimmers in the past 12 years. Before that it was a Honda Civic VX. A very rare model. Seems like forever ago.

Family hand-me-down 99 Volvo S70 non-turbo. Drove it for 5 years between 225K - 350k. Most boring car in the world to drive, but had many good memories in that thing. Reliable as hell and its now going to live the rest of its live being beat the hell up by my family in farm country. Going from that to the E90 330i with ZSP and 6MT its hard to fathom why it took me this long to get the drivers car I always wanted!

first car was a family hand down 02 Mazada MPV LX it was GREAT in highschool stuffing as many people into it as possible to go out while skipping class. xD

then a 06 Cayenne S which I still have and absolutly love it other then the fact that it drinks fuel faster then I drink water >,<

now 08 328xi which is just amazing but always driving me to work harder to eventually get myself into a 335 or M3. Such a great motivator!
