Just curious, this site:

Has screenshots and such, but they look nicer than what's in my 08. The selection box around items look easier to read, and the graphics look better.

So i'm assuming the graphics from the hidden menu site are from some newer software version? I know on mine i've had an issue once where the name of my iPod, which is just 'iPod' changed to '$iPOD$' until I turned everything off and back on. Also, when i'm storing radio stations it stores what the current text is, for example it might say Lady Gaga on the RDS and that's what gets saved vs the station name/number.

Anyone else run into this? Am I running old software? Appointment is the 23rd for HPFP programming and headlight fix.

Edit: Looking at the pics the "nicer" image is from 06 and I have an 08 (10/07 prod) so you would think i'd atleast be newer than the 06.. maybe I just think it looks nicer because it has graphics vs just a gradient?!

When I had my alarm coded a year ago I had to have my whole car reprogrammed including the NAV. The new screen is grey, not brown. Besides that, there are minimal differences, with a bit of a speed boost.

Mine too is brownish and when I asked my dealership about updates they said they normally don't do update unless theres a problem with the system and that indeed, from update to update the graphics can look different.

The second picture is the newer version of the iDrive software, they removed the graphics on the icons and when to a uniform scheme for the display.

My iDrive used to have the old style menus until my CCC was updated in 2009 to retrofit MP3 capability and to fix some known errors in the Nav. I was running Progman v23.3 on the car and the new menus/navigation colors were brought in at Progman v25 while my car was updated to Progman v32.
