Montego Blue = Audi A4 Ocean Blue
Is it me or is the new Montego Blue a dead ringer for the famous Audi Blue?
See pic here at link http://forums.audiworld.com/a4b7/msgs/35930.phtml |

It's very close but there are subtle differences - it looks like the Audi Ocean Blue Pearl Effect is slightly less blue/darker. Tried to photo both in different angles but I think it will depend on the lighting condition

I think they are worlds apart - the Montego Blue is a MUCH better colour..much brighter and rich....yes yes I know BMW can do no wrong in my eyes..
It's an obsession I tell you..an expensive one at that

depends on light
Great pic of both...
in one pic, the bmw looks darker. in the other, the audi looks darker.. I thought I was looking at the audi in the reverse angle...but it was actually BMW totally depends on light. |

Thanks!
Been wanting to take this pic for a long time and haven't had the time to wash the cars but here they are - even my boat is blue :-) If anyone can guess the missing car, you win the car nut prize. Actually just the make (not model) then my hats off to you for figuring it out. Sorry for the thread hijack  |

Another BMW Montego Blue vs Audi Ocean Blue pic. There seem to be some green in the Audi, maybe a reflection from the trees? The pearl effect at work?
(The VW is called Shadow Blue, just fyi) |

I'm guessing a MB sedan to be more specific.
You got the vert, the wagon/hatch, the coupe, and the SUV. All you need is a blue Mercedes 4-door.

And I am guessing the reasons why our friend chris hasn't pulled the trigger on a proper MB sedan is that they don't have that specific shade of blue (substandard C class aside) I must give much to Chris for going with a vision (of blue) wrt his car collection. Impressive! I must ask him, there must be a story behind all this...

You nailed it - unfortunately my planning didn't work out that way. It's an SLK350 (Capri Blue, kinda too dark for me). I'm planning to sell (or trade it in) for a MB Sedan. Don't really need the room for a family so my question to you: E or the new C class? No AMG's for me, too excessive for me

No real story except that I grew up in the 80's and have this line stuck in my head: "He who has the most toys win" HAHAHA. Although the only thing I won was more bills As far as getting the blue cars - I've had many cars in my past and they were all different colors (red, yellow, green, white, black, gray, silver, you name it ..) & makes (American, Japanese, no british nor swedish though). After a while I ran out of colors (I'm NOT getting purple, pink or any other funky colors). I wanted some consistency so I went with all blue (& all german). So the last piece of the puzzle is an MB sedan (have an SLK which I'll sell/trade soon). Benz is really not in my blood but they used to make great sedans and I'm slowly aging myself. So there you have it To this day, I still prefer the driving experience of BMW's. Fortunately, they've toned down the Bangle effect on them otherwise I would've jumped ship -- signed, the car fanatic (Chris) |

Thanks Chris for the insight. You're a lucky guy to be having so many toys at one time You're also a man of taste.
I agree that MB is barely a shadow of its former great self, but I hear they're making a comeback. Are you familiar with KL?

You've got 5 fairly expensive German cars but getting an AMG is too excessive? Meh, I'd drop the wagon and the SLK and grab one of those nice little E class AMG wagons. Elite sleeper
Nice collection btw.
