KW V2 vs Bilstein PSS9 b16

I have the KW V2 on my 07 E93. hit a pot line (not a pot hole), and the ride has been shit ever since.

I am considering the Bilstein PSS9 b16. I am looking for a lowered to slammed look, while preserving comfort and smooth ride....it is my daily driver. i wsa quoted 1300 canadian shipped to my door...i think this is an excellent price.

can anyone share their thoughts on KW V2 vs Bilstein PSS9? the PSS10s are 2k shipped to my door, and as i understand it, very mild technical differences, so not worth it. The only downside is the bilstein pss9 has been around for 5-6 yrs so i don't know if the old technology should be factored in here, but i am sure the pss9s are solid coilovers. im just looking for a comfortable ride, or as much as possible in light of lowering my car.

anyone know of the adjustment module that comes with the b16s?

Any info would be appreciated.

Andy

I had a vendor tell me that he prefers the Bilsteins but most people buy KW because they're cheaper. Also, regarding pss10 and pss9, he said that there's a minor difference in the knob and 10 vs 9 settings.

However, I'd like to hear some members' opinions also. Particularly improvements in the pss10.

Yeah I see on a website I can get a set of brand new pss9 coilovers for 1300 bucks. I was going to get a spring and shock set up but this seems worth it. I too would like a smooth comfortable ride and was wondering how they compare to the kw v2's.

There's no such thing as a smooth, comfortable ride when you're slammed...

i know my experience may not be too helpful but anyways
I have pss10's on my a3 and honestly love them, great coilovers the only issue that i truly have is the fact that up front you cant lower them as much as youd expect, there for if its the same case with the pss9's for bmw you wont achieve that slammed look your going for. But over all great coils id get bilsteins over kw's anyday

They will. When I had them the ride was so much smoother than I at the time thought it was. My only issues was with the knobs not adjusting properly, meaning not a consistent amount of clicks from one shock to the other, and sometimes not even consistent on the same shock.

I didnt check them out before having them installed and by then it was too late. If I had noticed the defect ahead of time I would have returned them for a new set. Good luck and enjoy.

I'm leaning towards the pss9s as well. Post a review when you slap them on!

That's just how the rear adjusters are. Follow the instructions on page 20 in the manual, available here:

http://cart.bilsteinus.com/pdfs/E4-WM4-Y563A00.pdf

Especially, take note of the portion that reads:

"Position 9 must be positioned directly above the score mark on the adjusting head (C). Then tighten the set screw (B)."

Thats great to note as Im sure its significant. Im hopeful the installer knew that, but who knows, he completed the job in two hours. But I had the problem on the fronts too, especially the front right.
