I've experienced that but just thought it was cold tires needing to be warmed up from sitting over night. It gets better once they've been driven on for a few minutes; in my situation. Otherwise, check balance/tire pressure.

If you're running summer tires you will get that but usually on for a few miles till they warm up. There's a flat spot until they warm up. But unless the freeway is right next to your driveway it may be something else like the aforementioned tire balance.

Maybe it's cold, do you leave it outside at night or do you let it sleep in the house? lol:

to the people that are saying it needs the tires balanced, i dont understand why after driving for a few minutes the vibration goes away? if the tires were out of balance wouldnt it always vibrate? and the highway is literally 15 seconds from my house.

It's flat spotting and yes, many, if not most performance tires will do that to some extent. The tires will develop a flat spot where they contact the ground for an extended period of time such as overnight. If the tires are warm, the flat spot will disappear almost immediately as soon as you start driving. If they're very cold, the rubber doesn't rebound as quickly and the flat spot won't disappear until the tire warms up a bit. Flat spotting is often more pronounced when the tire is under-inflated so check to see if one or more tires are low on air.

Ice/Snow can build up inside of your rims. Happened to me and exact same feeling on the highway. Check it out. Knocked it loose and wallah! Good luck.

Make sure you don't have any snow/ice stuck in your wheels. I really bad vibration the other day - I had to pull over on the freeway to see what was going on. Sure enough, ice caked in the right front, throwing off its balance.

+1 to the frozen ice in the wheels.
Also check your tire pressures. Fluctuating weather will cause your tires to lose pressure because of the expansion of moisture in the wheels. |
