Thumbs up 2007 Susan G Komen - Ultimate Drive for the Cure

For the eleventh year in a row, BMW will partner with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the BMW Ultimate Drive program. As part of the program, fleets of specially marked BMWs travel across the Country to increase breast cancer awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research. Participants are invited to test drive one of these special BMWs. In return, for every mile these cars are test-driven, BMW donates $1 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to aid in the fight against breast cancer. The test drives are free to the participants. There will also be lots of information on breast cancer awareness, early detection, etc. In addition, a community resident is honored for his or her work in the fight against breast cancer. To participate in the Ultimate Drive for the Cure, call 1-877-4-A-DRIVE or visit BMW’s website, www.bmwusa.com, to make your reservation. Of course, you can also just stop by that day and drive as well, there will be plenty of spots available.

I wanted to let people know about this event while it was fresh in my mind. Hopefully someone will bump it next month.

Steven, I believe last year chapter members helped out transporting cars between locations. Can we (responsible drivers that we are) get in on that?

Sure. I don't know where the transports are going to be going to yet. But honestly, I can't keep track of all the message boards. I'll try to remember to come back when I have more details.

You mean at different locations?

Remember to book early, the hot models go fast. If you're late you'll just end up with loaner-spec X3s

Not if I beat you to them

I'll be the one who will be blocking the 650 convertible for the whole day I'm taking the car to Atlantic city At a dollar per mile, that'd be my charitable thing for the year

+1

We didn't get an opportunity to properly 'debut' AJ's new car...it deserves a BK standard photoshoot.

Unfortunately, I'd be in Dallas this weekend, so you guys have fun :rocks:

you gonna have to be there, we'll wait.

I know Brian is experimenting with long-exposure shots. we dont have to go far... I like to see if we can capture AJ's car while on the road.. I believe Diesel did it at 35mph cant remember what focal, shutter speed and apeture.

I'll volunteer my cab of the cameraman

You guys forget my family duties. Not so easy to get out of the house for hours at a time. As much as I'd love to meet up for a drive, I am not too sure about this weekend.

I do want to head out that way sometime, though, because I think it looks like a beautiful location for photos. It should be particularly good in the spring, with everything getting greener and flowers beginning to bloom.
