Tischer BMW the cheapest source for oil filters?
I usually buy all my filters from germanfilters.com, but i came across Tischer, and it lists OEM filters for $9 if I buy the 10 pack vs germanfilters which was something like 10.87.
Before I submit an order, is $9/filter the cheapest I'll find or does someone know of a cheaper source? Thanks. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...egoryID=104047 Item Number UOM Qty MSRP Price 11427566327_10Pack Each $124.60 $124.60 $90.00 BMW E90/91/92 OEM Oil Filter 10 Pack 10 pack of OEM E90/91/92 oil filters at a great price! I think you need to consider shipping costs. I'm sure it would be cheaper to source an oil filter locally considering the shipping cost. I'm not sure shipping oil filters from Maryland to California is cheaper than paying a few bucks more for a locally sourced filter. The thing is only $10 for Gods sake. I live 100 miles from Tischer and I usually have to pay a minimum of $15 for shipping parts to my house so I always load up on what parts I'm buying (I have two high-mileage BMWs) so to amortize the shipping costs over a good amount of parts.
I guess you could buy 10 oil filters and make it worth the shipping cost, but I'd bet you'd misplace most of them or damage them by the time you'd use them all. If you follow the BMW oil change interval it would take you probably 8 - 10 years to use them all, even just doing one change a year for low mileage use would still be 10 years. Or even if you double up the OCI to say 7,500 miles, it's still 5 years to use 10 oil filters. Are you even going to keep the car that long? It would make better sense just to get Tischer's oil change kit every time you need an oil change; they have "free" shipping on oil change kits. Just my 2 cents. |

These are $10.48 and if you're Amazon prime member like me, then it's free 2-day shipping. Also, I think Amazon does free ground shipping if your order is over $25. The filter looked very good quality, although I didn't have an OEM to compare to other then the one I just took out. It is made in Germany and probably is OEM.
