Anyone running Chuckwalla with SD-CCA March 19-20?

Just saw this on the SDCCA Facebook page with this link:

http://www.sdbmwcca.com/calendar/CVR/cvr-2011.html

Anyone know how far this is from the Palm Springs area?

that or sdbmwcca.com
I'll be there. This time in the e90.
Its about 40 miles east of the closest hotel. The "closest hotel" is in Indio? Not too far east of Palm Springs.

Fun track, BMW CCA Events are Well Run

I have been looking forward to another BMW CCA driving school at Chuckwalla. I went last fall and it was a lot of fun. Chuckwalla is a great track, it has a nice rhythm about it, a bit like Buttonwillow. It has all of the features you look for plus a neat off camber turn. The run off areas are huge and smooth -- very safe feeling. I hate walls and this track has few. If you have never been to a BMW CCA event, I highly recommend this event. If you know nothing about BMW CCA HPDEs, these events are great for both seasoned and novice drivers. The instruction is top notch.

Last I heard, there are 53 students and 26 racers signed up. I think the cap is 60 students. So, if you're on the fence, you should act now.

Also, there is information on the SDBMWCCA facebook event page about on-site fuel availability and pricing.

I've been told that this is the direction we're running in. Here's an in-car with corner description.

I can't believe I was stupid enough to do 3 day of track on 2 tracks 500 miles apart in 7 days.

What was the other track?
What was the problem? I'm thinking of doing Laguna Seca with the CCA on a Monday, then the AAA with you guys on Friday later this year.

Laguna Seca. The problem was the amount of driving to and from the track. Maybe I'm getting OLD, but I can't physically recover from 5+ hours of driving on the road with no stop that quickly anymore. Add the round trips, I've spent about 18 hours driving to and from tracks this past week.

Golden Gate is doing Laguna Seca again in June?! Dude they're trying to KILL ME.

Hopefully I'll see you there!!! I couldn't get this weekend off to go to Chuckwalla.
I just wish they could do two days Laguna Seca to make the drive more worth it, or do it back to back with another organization.

Do you know why AAA is only a single weekday this year?

Same reason why Laguna Seca isn't a 2 day school. The tracks have priced themselves prohibitively high. In order to "make money" at either LS or AAA, the chapter organizers will have to charge between $600-$750 for the weekend. At that price point it is virtually impossible to attract any students. Historical data suggest anything over $450 you'll see a pretty significant drop in attendance.

That and the 2 day weekend they (AAA) offered us was not favorable. It would have been in February and it would basically give us 4 weeks to market it. The other 2 day weekend is in AUGUST.
