Can't get 'Stop / Start' to work

Hello,

Excluding the really cold weather, I've noticed since Christmas that my 'Stop / Start' technology hasn't been working. When the weather was warmer (around 10 degrees) I ensured that the car was warm and air con not on full blast but couldn't get the car to stop the engine regardless.

Other than a low battery (which I don't know how to check) I'm not sure why it wouldn't work - has anyone else experienced a similiar problem or am I expecting too much in this slightly cooler weather?

Thanks

Adam

Garage List
Your battery isn't strong enough, the most likely reason.

If you have any trips in the near future of say 100 miles or more, you will find that it will be working again. If not, your battery is goosed.

Air-con cool down or warm up phase, anti-fogging sensor active, outside ambient temperture below 4 degrees, battery below 12volts, engine temperature insufficient, could be any of these reasons. Sales execs do not explain this well enough to customers.
