resonator delete or muffler delete for e92 335?

I want to do something with the stock exhaust. I want something louder than the stock exhaust, but not too obnoxious and not too expensive. I am not into the performance gain stuff but just want my car to be louder than stock. I have e92 335i and would like some input. I was leaning towards doing either a muffler delete or a resonator delete. However I heard that the muffler delete drones quite a bit and that it can get pretty loud. I thought the resonator delete is only for the e90 and the e92 do not have a resonator. Will correct me if I am wrong. However if you guys got any other opinions that would be great. I do not want to spend more than 150-200 bucks at the muffler shop and don't want to get a whole exhaust system.

Haha, I see you still haven't pulled the trigger.

Haven't searched much about it but what if you deleted the secondaries & xpipe/resonator at the mid section? Just go straight pipes from the primaries to mufflers?

No resonators on e92 335's, so rule that option out lol.

The E92 already has a small non-restrictive X-pipe system.. For around 80-100 bucks you can delete the secondary cats and get straight pipes. Sounds nice

completely my opinion, but all of the muffler delete videos i have seen/heard sound like crap.

i think HPF gets away with their unmuffled exhaust system because of the smaller pipe diameter

Actually HPF has the largest exhaust at 3.5"

OP: you can delete your secondary cats, but thats about it for the E92 system. Another alternative is you can get downpipes and leave the stock cats back in, but this method is more than your budget but you would get nice sound and more performance from that.

Funny thing is, i went to sell the cats at a metal junk yard and they gave me 40-50 for each cat, so the removal of the sec. cats was basically free, paid for itself.

Anything you do can give the dealer ammo to void somewhat of your warranty.. Deleting the secondary cats or muffler they can def bother u.

You will not run into a computer error of any kind in the future, and it will give it a more pronounced exhaust tone, without droning and being crazy loud. It makes the exhaust tone deeper and richer

Muffler delete is more on the loud loud side, and sacrifice getting drone aswell for the loudness. Some people have reported having excessive rasp from muffler delete aswell but everyone ears are different to what they like.

NOTE: the e92 doesnt have a resonator as seen in my thread for my E90.

Secondary Cats (aswell as primary cats) are for emmsions purposes.. Primary cats have sensors, seconadary cats dont.

Not sure how that works in CALI... in Ny inspection i have no problem what so ever.

Not drone what so ever with the resonator and secondary cats removed!
But not sure how having a x-pipe with no secondary cats would be any different which i doubt compared to mine, there def wont be any drone.

Correct... Leave the X-pipe and remove the secondary cats. Or remove the mufflers only.
