Just uninstalled the AR downpipes
I uninstalled the AR 3" catless downpipes yesterday and wooh what a difference. My car was a beast before and now it is not as fun anymore . When I stomp on the gas, there is definitely a lag there now and doesn't pull as hard. To those thinking of getting the downpipes, you will not regret it! Just be sure to do emission testings first so you are good for a year or two.

Wait a minute man, are you saying you wont pass inspection with the AR downpipes on? Are you catless or catted? Please clarify. I hate to have them uninstalled. I do have the OEM originals, but not looking forward to having them swapped twice just for inspection.

Mine were catless. I am just saying for the sake of simplicity, just get emissions done first. I think there are ways to do it with Procede and etc but I don't know how to do all that so I kept it simple by getting my emissions done first.

for states that don't perform the "sniffer test" and just go off the OBD-II port readings running kittyless downpipes will pass emmissions (with the proper DP fix) correct?

But I personally don't like it when people fuck with emissions' equipment. Just no need and juvenile. So what if you get an extra 25 hp? There are other methods that don't further hurt the environment.

If you don't have procede, or you don't have the o2 modifier hooked up with the procede (latest harnesses and updated harnesses), you can either change your harness to make the o2 modifier functionality work, or BMS offers wire in o2 fix (version 3) that is adjustable for about $80. Beats that un-install and re-install labor. |

Oh no. I just uninstalled them because I am selling the car and moving onto a newer 335i.

I would keep the DPs till the end...however... when I took mine out for warranty work on the car, I was able to tune the car back close so the torque was the same or close. I had to start from scratch, reset the ecu... adaptions, etc and then tweak jb3 a bit for the new set up. I was running meth, dci and no dp's for a while and was happy with the cars performance with the stock DPs in. When I put them back in, it took a while to get them dialed in again but when I did..... I was surprised how much they did for the set up.

AR DP's
Sounds awesome. I wanna get some DP's now but I also need a tune! Already have my new rims/tires and AFE intake kit...now I need some more power! How long is the installation? Also, as far as catted/cattless, what are the power and sound differences?

DP installation takes about 2-4 hours on "i" models and about 4-6 hours on "xi" models. I love the way DP's sound with a stock exhaust IMO.
