I posted this in the sticky and searched but didn't find anything:

I am about to purchase the Gold 7/100k (or power-train plus for $1000 less, haven't decided), my question is, if we service the car on our own and not through BMW, will they still honor the warranty?

You can have the car serviced wherever you like or do it yourself. You'll just need to keep good records of what was done when and be able to produce receipts for fluids and parts. The receipts will need to show that the fluids comply with BMW requirements (i.e. LL-01 for oil)
