Thanks. Good for reference.

Aren't most rotors these days considered "consumable" in that there's really not enough material for resurfacing, so once they're out of spec or warped you're pretty much looking at new rotors? (Unlike in Ye Olde Tymes when you could resurface pretty much as a matter of course?)

Z4-Villalona--no weed while doing brake work! That's for after the install and check-out process dude!

Yes - the friction material is so hard it wears rotors at a faster or equal rate of the pads themselves.

The numbers are stamped on the rotors.... 90% of all rotors have the minimum thickness stamped on them.

You can't machine our rotors anyway. May as well look for a BBK when they go

z4-v is full of hilarious win

ot, yes i do think at 50,000 miles with slightly warped rotors as u're describing tt u should look at changing ur rotors with new ones. cross-drilled rotors can be machined but very few shops, if any, will attempt to do so.

I know that but want to measure before putting in new pads to see if new replacement rotors are needed. I'm getting a little lip on the fronts. BBK is way out of my budget and probably overkill for my use of the car.

Wait until you price out the rotors

If you have a 'little lip' then you should be fine.

I have a large lip on mine and my front rotor thickness is 27.2mm, rear rotor thickness is 19.2.

The BMW TIS specifically forbids the rotors from being machined.....
