confirmed - N54 HPFP Warranty EXTENDED to 200000km

Went to the dealership (town and country ) to inquire about HPFP. Turns out my 07 is qualifies, with DME update & possible injectors replacement.

I then asked the SA if there are warranty extension on the fuel pump and he confirmed yes & showed me the service bulletin... I asked if I can have a copy he said no.

BUT I got the service bulletin #

It is : SIB 13 03 09

When going to BMW for HPFP related issues, you can refer to this SIB.

I * think it is 10 year? I jetted out of there too fast and forgot, but the mileage is 200000km... which is longer than the American's 100k miles!

possible injectors replacement.

Is the injector replacement part of the HPFP issue or is it a separate problem ? I have a 2007 335xi and had the HPFP replaced and latest s/w update but I don't remember them doing anything wrt the injectors ? Should this have been checked or done at the same time or is it a separate issue ? If so, what exactly is the issue with injectors needing replaced ?
Thanks.

2 things:

1) I have a copy of this SIB at home, I can scan it and upload for all (However I think I d/l from this site a while ago)

2) I have not had the dreaded HPFP failure but my injectors did fail back in April. They were all replaced. The said it was because I let the gas level run too low but my response is if its was "operator error" as you claim then how come all the work was done under warranty??? No rebuttal from the SA.

Hey,

I had all 6 injectors replaced at the end of December. In the mornings when I started the car, it would vibrate... I'd have to shut down, and then start up again and it would go away.

Took it into the dealer, and they replaced all injectors without issue.

Call your dealer and take it in for service.

Thanks bro, I think I am kinda having what you've just described. But give it some gas and the vibrate/unstable RPM settles ..

This shit is so ghetto, makes me feel like I am driving a 1990 modded up S14 that my friend had, he had to give it some gas so the engine won't stall on start ups ..

Depends on the dealer you go to but the injectors have been getting replaced on the recent HPFP failures. Unfortunately for all of us the more ethanol used in our gas the more injector problems we are going to be seeing.

Got my recall letter last week...i never had my HPFP fail, 82000km now, had all the injectors replaced about 8 months ago along with plugs, coils and new software...not sure if its worth going in as the car's working and I'm really thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it...i'd hate to touch the HPFP given history

If your pump is working I wouldn't replace it. There is no proof this latest pump actually fixes the issue.

Same here. My early build 335i coupe with 71,000km never had the HPFP fail. I'm listening to what Mike@N54 said and won't bring my car in. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
