Jet Blue

Wow! Anyone watch it land? I had a lump in my throat the whole time. I watched about the last half hour of it while it was up in the air until the time it landed.

I know those guys flying the plane were just pilots, but if I needed surgery, I think I'd let them do the operation!

i saw it, talk about nerves of steel...those pilots executed that emergency landing to perfection!! that landing looked smoother than landings ive been apart of with 3 working land gears...lol... :rocks: :rocks:

Got home from the airport and saw it on TV. I had just flown out of LAX about 20 minutes before it landed. Probably was in a hold pattern when I took off. SCARY but glad it turned out OK.

All i can say is 3 things would have happened to me upon landing if i was in that plane. #1-I would have shat my pants, #2-thrown up, or #3- run up to the pilots and plant the biggest damn kiss on em haha. But yes, those pilots were AMAZING!

Very nice job by the pilots, yes. Just in case some of you are freaked out (because it's not ALL that uncommon), the nosewheel isn't the most effective thing in keeping the plane going straight until much lower speeds...and at those slower speeds, the 16 caliper brakes can overpower the nosewheel. Having it cocked 90 degrees off is better than, say, 20 degrees off. I have had a nosewheel cocked 90 degrees off before...scary experience I should say. All that happened though was the tire blew and the plane stopped going straight down the centerline of the runway.

Do you think of getting back to civil aviation, I know jobs are very hard out there. I have over 1,000 hours and im fortunate of having a job with an airline.

One day, yes. I've seen the flying world from both sides now--Civilian and Military--and given what I know now, I'm very happy where I am. One day I'll get back to the airlines. I'm 26 now, so plenty of time to make that choice. What airline do you work for? I was with AE.
