Question regarding license and insurance ...

I have a quick question, does the address on your license have to match the address thats on your insurance slip ? This would be for Ontario, not sure if other provinces have different laws. The reason I'm asking is that I have recently moved into a new house but I still have my license and insurance with the old address, however the old address is still my place, my parents live there and my Dads insurance and mine are under the same policy and I'd like to keep it that way.

I doubt it...cause if you are living somewhere else, you should have insurance under you own name and where you live can determine the premiums....ie. 416 areas are more expensive than 905 areas (majority of the time)

If your insurance company finds out that you live on your own and are still under your parents insurance policy, they will be pissed. At least if it is a permanent thing (ie - you are not in school). They might deny coverage if you get into an accident.

I would check with your broker.

Do not take any chances. If a COP stops you and your addresses dont match correctly, you could get a ticket (not for lack of insurance) but the lack of a correct address.
