Missing spare key fob

Have just bought a 320d se touring but there is only one key. Dealer is looking £157 for a replacement. Is it necessary to go through the dealer or is it possible to buy one on the likes of ebay and then have it programmed at the dealers. Any idea how much they usually charge for this?

Where did you buy the car from?

You should have got a key thrown in, or demanded a discount for it.

Any car should be sold with 2 keys.

Ex lease vehicle. Trying to contact the driver and also the lease company to see if they are perhaps still in possession of the spare. Not holding out a lot of hope but worth a try.

So are you saying you paid for the car then they said "oh sorry, we've only got one key"

Sent them a bil then a small claims notice done online. bstards.
