Retrofit heated seats

HI, just wondered how easy or difficult it is to fit the heater elements to leather seats?

Dead easy - Lidl have heated massage seat cushions on offer this week for £17. Just pop it on the seat, plug it in the ciggy lighter and enjoy the fuzzy feeling.

Sorry. Just ignore me.

Seriously, it SHOULD be reasonably easy. Some cars now come with the seat base bonded to the covering, in which case it is near impossible to do without destroying the cover. I was quoted around £600 for doing this job (on another car) by an unholsterer in Birmingham (google is your friend!). This didn't include wiring etc!

i tried this by buying heated seats hoping to swap the elements only to find they are sewn into the covers in the end too expensive to contemplate plus the switches alone are £200. easier to look for some heated seats then all you have to do is the wiring.

Thanks for the benefit of your experience. Not worth the expense nor the hassle will have to settle for body heated leather!

Yeah - I find that that by the time the heated seats would be kicking in, my ass has already warmed the seats to body temperature!
