Ipod question?

I did a search and tried everything to get my ipod to work. I went to the dealership because my first gen ipod wouldnt load up, service guy tried his and his worked. He told me I had to dl some update or whatevers. I came home and tried to find an update and even tried the reset mentioned in another thread still no luck. I tried my other ipod and this time it seemed like it worked fine, and the music would play but no sound comes out.

Anyone else having problems with the new ipod option on their f10? My e92 was all plug and play and worked fine.

Thanks in advance.

I guess the service guy meant you should update your Ipod with the latest OS. Just connect to Itunes and click "update".

Is it really a 1st gen Ipod? Close to 10 years old then I guess. I wouldn't be too disappointed if it didn't work...

Which cable did you use? If it's a recent build F10, then you should be using the white USB cable that came with your iPod. Not the BMW Y cable that was the standard before.

It sounds like it is the iPod Touch. The current generation is just plug and play.

I had the same problem. First generation did not work. The next ones did. So as a new feature to my new car I bought new iPod.
