Rasmussen BMW, Portland, OR
I guess I might as well make my first post about where I purchased my car. I must say, I have been to a great number of car dealerships, but none have been more helpful and curteous than Rasmussen BMW. The rep. that helped me was Brian Lewis. He was so enthusiastic to help me, it was great. He walked me through the whole facility and let me fiddle around with each car that had the options the new E90 does so I could get a feel for what I wanted. In the end, I got a good price and had an enjoyable experience. If you are in the Portland Metro area and looking for a BMW I highly recommend Rasmussen and if he's around ask for Brian Lewis.

Just wanted to update with more info.
I had to bring my vehicle in for a service. My salesman Steve Kincaid arranged everything for me, from appointment to already-ready loaner vehicle when I got there. He truly is a top-notch salesman. If I buy a bmw again or anybody around me is looking to purchase BMW, it would be from Steve Kincaid/Rasmussen BMW.

Rasmussen BMW
Rasmussen is great--I bought my first new BMW right out of college there in 1973 (Inca Orange 2002). I got my current '01 M3 and have a preorder in for the '07 M3. They never sell over MSRP, the service department is very good, and they're convenient to where I work downtown.
Rasmussen Mercedes is also excellent (just bought an '06 ML there). |

I got my E90 from Rasmussen too. Had to wait for two months, but was kept updated as to where and what is going by Tim - my sales rep. So far I have nothing to complain about. Rasmussen beats Kuni hands down.
So, I'm sure if you are going to get a new BMW in OR, it's the best place to bring your business |

I also have bought three cars from Rasmussen over the past 5 years. They are hands down far superior to Kuni BMW, and yes they will negotiate a little on the price.

I concur, Rasmussen does a great job, I have leased one car from Mike Taylor there and he is a great person to work with. He went above and beyond to help meet our needs!
Their service dept is also top-notch, they are always helpful, honest and have helped me maintain both of our Bimmers in good order! |

RE; Service Scheduling, it seems to fluctuate from as little as the same week to up to 3 weeks for scheduled service...that being said, I have had sudden developments dealt with on the same day, just by stopping by...

this alone prevented me from buying there. KUNI tho they are "da Shieet" complete with cams in the service area (even after a visit finally to Rasmusen) they looked ok, but custome wait area leaves much to be desired, its all business area/ offices glad you had good expierience

I just went to Rasmussen today and scheduled for a 335i test drive. Rasmussen's dealership is indeed small, often too crowded. Sometimes I can't find a friggin' place to park when I visit the dealership. Waiting area is small also, but I usually don't wait in the dealership, so I didn't care much. Kuni's customer area is REALLY nice though. Its huge!!!! They also got many cars outside, so its fun to just look around.
I love"d" kuni until the sales person and the manager lied to me. I wrote a story about this a while ago. if it wasn't for their terrible lies, I would be driving a silver E46 M3 with 20k miles right now. I have nothing against them now though. Shit can happen, and I was just unlucky I guess. In my book however, Im not going back to Kuni as long as the same manager and the sales person is there.

Just wanted to chime in about Rasmussen. I ordered my 335i there last weekend from Josh Wight and enjoyed the experience so far. Previously during the week we spent about 1.5 hours together test driving a 330i sedan and 335i coupe and looking at a lot of the cars in their garage to see different trims, etc. Then when I went in Saturday with my wife and son he was very patient while we drug him all over the place looking at different cars, etc.
Yeah, sure they don't have a big fancy plasma screen in the waiting room but how often are you there anyway? I'd rather watch my big screen tv at home. The dealership floor space is small but they are also a lower volume dealer vs Kuni. Rasmussen is more "customer relationship" oriented as far as I can tell.

I have been pretty happy with Rasmussen. My dad purchased a BMW and Mercedes from them, and I bought an '06 330 sedan and was happy with it.
I am looking to buy a new '08 coupe and was told by the salesman that they would probably only give me $26-29K trade-in on my current 330 (9800miles, sports/performance package, cold weather package, sun kit, manual transmission). I was pretty shocked by how low I would get for my car to be honest. I find it hard to believe our cars would depreciate 40-45% in only two years! I called DeLong BMW in Salem and they said they would give me $33K trade-in at least, but he was honest and said I could get $35K if I sold it on Craigslist. So...not sure what I am going to do at this point. I am kinda turned off with Rasmussen for tell me I would get that low of a trade-in value. I know Kuni is a crap dealership, I have had a bad experience with them, and everyone else I know says the same. I guess maybe I should try DeLong in Salem?? Any advice? -Ian Bell

I will ONLY deal with Rassy! I had a co-worker buy from Kuni and she was NOT happy, I immediately gave her my salesperson's name at Rassy and she has been very happy with the service. I'm waiting on my 08 335xi coupe soon! Greg Z is always the best to work with!

I have bought 2 Beemers from Rasmussen in the last year. Both times I went to Kuni 1st because they are closer to work/home. Both times Rasmussen was hands down the less arrogant, easy people to work with. Good prices and great people at Rasmussen.
