Installer for E90 OEM M Aero Kit in Miami?

I ordered an M Aero Kit for my E90 335i, arriving in the next few days. However, I've called several shops around town (Miami area), and found that most don't even want to try to install it. They claim it might not fit properly (even though I explain that it is an original BMW part for that particular car), that it is a headache to do, etc. I found one shop that specializes in BMW and they quoted me $990 for paint and installation. Does this sound reasonable?

Does anyone have any recommendations for body shops to do this work in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area? BMW wanted to charge me almost $1,600 for the job! Help!

i know a very good installer in miami that will be very capable of installing it himself, his name is cheluto2

seriously, from what i hear you undo a few bults from the underside of the car, put double sided tape on the lip, stick it on your bumper, and refasten the bolts through the lip

shouldnt be a problem for even the mechanically challenged and you will save some money

LOL! I wish it were that easy. This kit includes the entire front and rear bumpers, as well as the side skirts, so it is a little more involved than that. I saw pictures from the installation that ksfrogman did (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=6), and it requires removing the entire bumper, front and back. If this is not correct, can someone let me know? BTW, I, unfortunately, AM mechanically challenged

That's a very nice offer, thanks, man! I don't think I would try it myself, but if for some reason I do decide to do it, I could certainly use the help, so I would let you know.

after i got help installing the bumper i learned a lot about my car and where certain things are. The install isn't difficult at all, there are plenty of people who have done it here who would definitely be able to give you help assitance if you should need it

So you think someone that's not that mechanically inclined could do it? I am somewhat handy, but I just don't want to mess anything up, which is why I am a little hesitant. How long did it take you to do it? Did you only do the rear bumper or the front and side-skirts, too?

you can ask people, i am totally not handy at all. but i wanted to do it just cause its my car and i wanted it done right and for it to look good. With removal to install it was a total of 4 hours with breaks in between. the toughest part would be the rear bumper removal and removing the fogs plug. Other than that, the kit was pretty simple due to bolt on. two people makes the process go faster. I did the entire kit front sides and rear.

After calling many a shop in the area (thanks to all that recommended names), I finally went for the one that I had called from the beginning. However, it was like begging someone to do work that you will pay them for. Most shops are reluctant to do this work because they say "aftermarket" kits don't usually fit properly and are a lot of trouble to install. Even though I told them this is a BMW original kit. But, whatever... it is being painted now and will be installed as soon as my car arrives next week (currently on a truck from South Carolina to Miami). The price quoted? $750 including taxes and everything else. I will post pictures when it is done.

In case someone is interested in how this turned out.

I finally got it installed and picked up the car today! It looks really nice. However, the shop complained that some screws did not match, the connectors for the new fog lights were different, so they had to fix them up, and some parts that came with the kit (it includes a whole bunch of parts!) did not fit, so they used the old ones, which did fit. These are from the inner parts of the front bumper.

The cost? $750 for paint and installation.

The car looks much better now. I will post pictures tomorrow, hopefully.
