Mobil 1 is horrible, hardly synthetic these days. Do some research on modern oil testing.

+1 for overpriced cough syrup. The buzz on M1 is that its prone to shearing. Ok for the 330I, but definitely not for 335I. I also personally don't touch fluid brands that the stealerships are in love with.

Old News. Pepboys run a DIY oil change special: 5 quarts Mobil1 + mobil 1 oil filter = $32.00. Yes, I know we need 7.5 quarts, but noone is stopping the customers from getting 10 quarts and 2 filters...

Thanks Shockin. Just picked up enough for two oil changes. Great deal.

I won't debate whether Mobil 1 is the best out there, but I intend to change oil more frequently and there's no way I'm doing that with royal purple or some $10/qt brand. M1 is perfect for frequent changes and is OEM recommended.

The STI, isn't direct injection though, right? Also was the normal operating temperature 245-255 deg F?

Sti is direct injection at least the 2009+, with my upgraded setup I was normally right in that range
