How much do the canadian dealerships charge for a new battery?
im seing that on the main forum, people are paying abut 350$ us for a battery+registration. Does that mean we can expect to pay 400$+ if not more? i dont need one yet, just curious on the going price for something ill surely need sooner or later. thanks!

On my Z4 I paid $109 for battery, then the install, disposal and tax came to about $250 (in October after 6 years)

Is the battery covered under warranty?
My '09 takes a while to crank over, and a reeeally long crank after sitting for a while (328i so its not HPFP). Also, the rest function didn't work the other day - another sign the battery is almost toast?

I would take it in. Last thing you want is a 3 hour wait for a boost/tow - which is what will probably happen in -20 degree weather. You can look at the battery - one of the cells has an indicator on it - if it is not green you need a new battery - but since it only checks one cell it is not a conclusive test.
I had mine tested in May - passed. In October I was left waiting for a tow. |

Use a battery charger (the trickle kind) for times when you do not drive it on a daily basis. If I am not going to drive my M3 for more than 4 or 5 days, I'll throw mine on.

Weird... I go weeks without even looking at the car and the battery health is still spot on.
