Careful of black-ish objects on the ground!
Just a warning to you guys...I was driving along Denison today when I spotted a black thing in the middle of the lane..there were cars all around, no way to dodge. I figured it was just a piece of ice so I drove on....once I hit it, loud metal screeching followed by clunks and sound of things breaking. Immediately pulled aside to check for damages to diff/exhaust/transmission ..looked alright. went to the front to check, and saw that the belly pan was cracked and pieces missing. I drove back to find a few pieces of destroyed belly pan and that thing I hit. It was a huge piece of triangular-shaped metal that I had trouble kicking aside .. it was probably a good 20cm by 25cm piece. Pretty pisssed right now, and monitoring for leaks since I can't get on a lift till Tuesday. Actually found a another piece down the street so I got out and kicked that aside too...freaking people

I live in an area with lots of semi trailer traffic and I've had my close calls with truck parts on the roads as well. I read in the paper that some guy almost got beheaded by a part flying off a truck a few weeks back. Scary stuff!

I'm lead to believe these are the pieces that's broken after crawling under my car a bit. But won't know till Tuesday when I get on a lift.
But yeah, I realize there's a lot of inconsiderate and inattentive people, that's why I wanted to warn you guys beware of objects that may look like ice.

those stupid truckers man! i had some close calls and i was force to hit 170 one time because a stupid trucker has blocks off ice on top of the truck and decided to sway it so the ice will fall on me. i just floored my car and hit 170 avoiding the ice but poor cars behind me got hit solidly

I caught a woman once open the door into a jetta I was driving. Her excuse: "cars are not human beings". Also, caught a guy once release a shopping cart down the lot to t-bone some car.I snapped at him. That's why we can't have nice things End of rant. |

Was it near Warden on Denison? I know there is a construction site near there and I often see stuff on the roads around construction sites.

Scary stuff. Especially when it comes off trucks. We should have an impound law that impounds the offending vehicle for a week.

No not the new Monte Carlo Inn area..it was closer to Victoria Park and Denison... still pretty annoyed that you can drop a 25lb piece of metal in the middle of the road.

Someone once told me that the "Porsche Panamera is not a car to drive in Toronto -- a city like Toronto doesn't deserve cars like the Panamera" ; to us i'm sure this applies to our 3 series too.
