Intake or BMS Powerbox?

I love the car, just wish it had a little more "go" to it. I know neither will make the car a lot faster. Any opinions on which I should get the BMS Powerbox or some sort of intake?

Isn't the power box expensive as hell? Like $1200

Start with the PowerBox although I would do them both together.

I have the N55, won't that void warranty? BMW is really picky about that kind of stuff. Even Dinan related parts.

Powerbox is for N52, not N55 :P But the point with all these piggybacks is that you just take them out and clear the codes before you take it in for service.

I can install and uninstall my JB+ in about 90 seconds at this point. It might take a new user a little while to get the hang of the install/uninstall on the power box, but once you get used to it, it's really second nature.

Anyway, back to OP's question. Power box doesn't give you OUTRIGHT power, but having driven in a car with the power box installed, it definitely FEELS much more powerful and responsive. The intake will give you a bit of a performance boost, and it'll make your engine sound really nice when you rev, but for the biggest difference in how the car feels, take the box! (But really do both.. you know you wanna)

It's a piggyback style software tune that adjusts throttle remapping and a few other parameters for non-turbo 6-cyl cars (N51/N52 engines including the 128i).

It burns a little bit more as it makes you drive more agressively. Not a big difference though.

There seems to be some confusion on what is available. The non-Turbo models (128i in this case) can only use the PowerBox. The JB3 system is for the turbo models (N54 135, 335 and 535).

Maybe I wasnt clear...but i was talking about the injen intake and the powerbox. Hence, the original question.

Well, I haven't installed an intake yet, but the PBX does get rid of that annoying throttle lag from a stand still.

I hear good things about PBX + K&N drop in air filter + removed charcoal filter.

I have a 128 and have the injen intake installed. Speed wise i barely feel any difference but sound wise i do. With the intake you will feel a more fierce and aggresive sound basically
