Just wondering if majority of the private sector are giving the 27th,28th and 3rd off since stat holidays are on the weekend this year?

Is anyone working on these days?

I know the public sector gets subsitute holidays (except teachers who are off two weeks already.) (in Ontario)

My company is having a christmas shutdown. Use my vacation days for Dec 27-30.

Stat holiday day offs are 23, 24 , 31.

Get a nice extended break

We are closed on the 27th and 28th, still not sure about January 3rd yet though. We might be open with a limited staff on that date depending on how many of our clients are open on that day.

my company is closed 24/27/3....but in reality, nobody really works (except me) during the days in between - lol

My work involves financial reporting so I do get 27,28 and 3rd off but the rest of the days I will be working my ass off firstly as its quarter end and secondly as a punishment for taking those 3 days off !

Office is shut down for those days...but I'm actually planning on working them since my fiancee is working (doctor at a hospital) and I figured I'd sort through my e-mails, archive my work, and get all the administrative stuff done that I've ignored for the past...oh, 12 months.

why off on 3rd?? is it special Monday or something?

Cause New Years is on the Saturday, they've got to give you either the Friday or the Monday off.

For my work we always get 3 days off during Christmas time as side from Christmas and Boxing Day. So thats why we are off on the 3rd in lieu of the first.

But honestly I try not to investigate it too much for as long as I/we have off its all good!
