Do you have active steering, servotronic, or normal?

How do you know your power steering whent out? Have you checked your belts? when a belt goes it out it makes it very dificult to steer the car.

If you hand an electronic malfunction yes. That's why I wanted to know what steering you had as servotronic and active steering lots of electronic components. With normal steering, I think the pump failed. You need to replace it.

Before anything make sure you know what kind of steering you have first and be 100% sure about it. Then you can make a choise on what to do or what it could be. If its non active steering then the probable cause could be the pump but there are many factors to steering not just a pump.. You might want to have a good indy take a look at it. Or if you want the dealership.

Non-active steering cars will have a green sticker on the cap for the power steering fluid reservoir.

You can normally hear the pump going if you turn the wheel all the way to one side.....it will make a whirring sound (is that a word? lol).

Also maybe a fuse? Not sure if the power steering pump is fused....I would think it is.

o ok so i took the chip out and took it to the dealership, and yea it has a green sticker where the steering fluid is and i hear tht noise when i turn it all the way so i guess it's the normal steering so iguess it might be a pump failure
