What's it take to fit the Morel ADMWs under the seats?

Since there's a bit of experience on this board with this particular speaker I figure I'd ask the question. How much of a mod does it take? Would the jtsherri spacers do it or deos it need to be thicker? How thick are the jtsherri spacers? For some reason I thought I remember an old post from VP saying a 3/4" spacer was required but I can't seem to dig that one up.

I'm considering replacing my SWS with the ADMWs and then preping for a future installation of a sub in the trunck. Probably an IDQ 10 or maybe even a 10W6. I can't think of a lot of others I'd like to try in a 10" that would fit in that space. Anybody know the internal volume of VPs enclosure?

VP should know the answer to both of those questions...

You would need a 3/4" spacer, as this picture seems to show:

Wouldn't it be nice if they could cross-reference the audio forums for e90post, 1adicts, and m3post? Or at least allow cross-searching. Don't know how many times I've remembered something but not been able to find it.

Thanks. That's the post I remember seeing it in. Now I'm just trying to figure out if the ADMW is the ideal driver for this application. Of course there's the SSMB8 which I know you like and there's also the raw driver variants of the ADMW which are the MW265 and MW267 which appear to be very similar to the ADMW. They look like they have the same motors but the Qts on the ADMW is higher than the other two leading me to believe that the ADMW was designed for free-air applications like in a door.

I'm still not sure what I would consider the OEM enclosures. They seem like they would be a sealed enclosure but because the removable portion of the enclosure opens up into the cavity behind the side skirts, it's hard to determine the actual volume and whether that volume would be large enough to be considered a free-air application.

+1 I've never thought about looking in the other forums....

So where would one get a pair of SSMB8s? Aren't they discontinued? I guess I could try eBay but it's always hit or miss.

http://www.woofersetc.com/p2591/04SS...s-Speakers.htm

... the price was dropped from $180 to $150 a set in a few weeks. That could mean that they want to clear the inventory quickly as these speakers have been discontinued for awhile.

They used to be $90 when introduced three years ago.

I've seen them at Woofersetc or ebay. That's about it.

X2 on the enclosures. What I can tell you is that I am using Morel CW-8 woofers down there with VERY GOOD results. Especially the punch I am getting from those woofers has greatly exceeded my expectations. FWIW, the Qts on these Morels is 0.46.

Those pics were for the E82. More altitude than the E9x has above the woofer. The E9x needs a thinner spacer. PM me and I can send you some.

After I had test fitted some 3/4" MDF spacers I made for my E90, there was no clearance between the top of the spacer and the bottom of the seat rail. And I figured anything less than a 3/4" spacer would be too shallow.

That's why I went with Morel MW166's instead of ADMW 9's when I did my system. I knew I could fit those. When paired with a trunk sub, the MW166's do really well.

Had I realized back then though that you supplied a different spacer to use with the ADMW 9's for the E90.......

After tax refunds are in next year, we'll talk

They do fit... I managed to put them in my E92 and the result is worth it. However, I had to cut out the bottom of the enclosures and re-seal them with some bondo/fiberglass/resin in order for the baskets to clear the enclosures, while leaving enough space for the seats to clear the grilles.

I can snap some pics if you like. I am traveling at the moment but will be back on tuesday. if you are interested let me know or PM me. I will also measure the spacers I used height-wise.

I got the stuff from VP.

Lets see those pics. I have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done but you don't often see detailed pics so I'd love to see some.

I will snap some when I get back tomorrow or the next day. Ken, do you know if the E90 underseat enclosures are the same size as the E92? I will take some rough measurements of mine so we can compare, I think Ken had mentioned that the E92 enclosures may be smaller?
