Anyone down for a 235i coupe?
Just saw these. As a coupe, this would be ideal for me. Shave 500lbs off the e92 nd still have a bit of room for groceries. I hope BMW brings these to the states with a N54 option, which has been rumored in the US 1-series specs.

Not to be vain or anything, but wouldn't you be a bit bummed if BMW decided to release a new model relatively soon after the 335i that would cost less and (would probably) go faster?
I dunno, just a comment, any thoughts?

I guess as in every other business, the money is all they care for, so if the research shows a lot of potential...we will see it. I guess some of us were bummed that the 325 was retired after just a year of service with the e90.

I really dont think that a 235 would be a direct competitor far a 335i. Only for the performance crowd, but unlike this forum's base, most 335i owners arent looking for a strip rocket. I think that it would be a very nice niche for BMW, as there is a lot of space between the M-coupe and the 335i coupe. I personally was torn and went with the e92 because my MZ3 S54 was way too small. But the 335 seems way too big, and way too heavy, so the split difference would be great.

I am about ready to purchase an E93 335i, but if I had some assurance the 1 series convertible would be on sale next year (as rumors are now suggesting) and with the N54, I would force myself to wait for it. Its going to be a great car, and with the 3 series threatening to move into 4000lb weight category, it cannot come at a better time. |

I WANT IT... only if the exterior styling, and handling is better than that of the hatchback.
it's either 135i hatchback or 235i coupe for me depends which one impresses me more, performance/looks wise. |

If that car is the size of an A3 or Mazda 3 then its too small for me.
I bet fun though.

I would guess it would be a 1 series coupe and 1 series hatchback, no 2 series.

BMW has confirmed that they are bringing over the 1 series in 135ii coupe vasion among other forms with the same bi turbo engine and with smaller engines after the initial roll out. This and the 2008 Diesal version of the 3 series are the 2 things holding me back from upgrading to a 335.

I think a lot of 330 owners were (understandably) bummed when the 335 came out...

I would take a long look at it espically if my wife gets an X3 next year. My lease is up in a little over 2 years so it may work out great.

I would love to get one!!!!
At trade-in time it will really depend on how often I am going to use to rear seat and how I can live with two doors only. But right now the 1 would replace the 3.

Count me in too, but the coupe looks a little stubby to me -- I'd definitely sign up for a 3 door hatchback with the biturbo plant. A small coupe with less room than my car doesn't appeal to me much. At least you could haul stuff in the hatch.

yea, like this is my ideal BMW....but the thing is, they cant have everything, and of course the proportions and design of the E90 is my favorite, so coming from that, it wont be any upgrade....i guess ill trade for some performance, but if we could get some aftermarket FI, i would not buy any other car.
