Best way to ship a bumper?
I would imagine that some of you have shipped large parts in the past and have figured out good (and bad) ways to ship to a buyer. Can you offer any advice on the best method to ship a bumper? Ballpark cost? I don't mind a longer ship time to save a little money. Also, any advice on packing would be helpful as well. TIA |

haha isn't it interesting what goes on planes that we don't know about? and US mail, fedex packages, frozen foods, firearms (i travel with firearms sometimes), pets, exotic pets (penguins sometimes fly on planes), frozen seafood, oxygen canisters(VERY dangerous if not handled properly), and COMAT (company materials like airplane tires, spare parts, etc.) |

I shipped a bumper before and also received an Mtec e46 bumper. I used Greyhound. You basically pick it up at the Greyhound station. I think it cost $85 to Texas. When it I picked up my E46 bumper it was in Port Authority in NYC. Imagine hauling a bumper and trying to get out of port authority during rush hour.

grey hound express is the probably the cheapest for shipping bumper.
it was $75-80 by GH when I got a rear bumper from a member here. UPS will charge $200+ for it |

of course anything ground would be the cheapest. I've found out that it if you ship to a business, its cheaper then a house.

+1 on greyhound...cost for me was $50 from CA to MA and that's with insurance. Get the bubble wrap from home depot for $20 bucks and wrap it good.

Go Greyhound. I was surprised myself. The bumper I bought came from Florida, and it came without a hitch. The cost is cheap on a comparative basis. The sender wrapped the bumper in plastic and bubble wrap -no issues.

Yep, Greyhound is the best option. Just bubble wrapped, no box needed. The only thing is that MAKE SURE that you put extra padding on the corners and sharp points because they can rub and rip through the wrapping and damage the paint. If you do that you'll be good. $60 from west coast to middle of the country, can't beat that.
