Ive done all my research on AE and still unsure....PLEASE HELP!
Ive been looking to get some Angel Eyes for my 07 e90 and there are so many out there and everyone says good/bad things about all of them anyway so i dont know what to get. I basically want them to be as bright as the stock headlights or close to 6000k, so like a bluish white (not pure white like CCFL or anything like that and not just BLUE). And i want them to be seen in pure daylight.. is my best bet LED? or are they not bright enough in the day? Im also willing to spend around $100 bucks soo what are your suggestions?? What i have on my mind right now are the PIAA LEDs even tho they are like $150, but if push comes to shove I'll do whatever it takes to make my e90 look nice

being able to be seen in pure daylight and around $100 do not go in the same sentence haha sorry. Well it also depends on what your opinion on visible in daylight is. To me, the only visible angels in daytime are the LS3 or OSS which are individual LED rings that need to be installed in the headlight. Those will run you $500+ and sending out your headlights. Or you can go with the MTEC V2s which are around $150 give or take and they are brighter than the PIAA and on par with the LUX.

You're going to have to spend $200+ if you want them to be seen very well in daylight...I have GP Thunder bulbs and they perform better than other LED bulbs 5x the cost...what year is your E90?

i have an '07 and yeah im not spending over $500 bucks for just angel eyes ill settle for around $150. It looks to me like the Mtech's or the GP's are what ill end up getting. They dont have to be bright where you can see them from a mile down the road. I had CCFL on my e46 and those couldnt be seen at all in the day. i just want something thats noticable from across a like a fair distance ya know, nothing crazy.

I just installed Lux 5.1 on my e90. Like the OP, I really wanted them to be bright and visible during the day.
When I got the lights installed I wasnt dissapointed or overly impressed. As you can see in the picture, the lux lights hold up in some sunlight but in direct sunlight they are far from visible. My opinion on the matter is if you are spending $150 for a bulb replacement you might find it worth while to look at LS3 or OSS.... I didn't and I wish I had. Not knocking Lux 5.1 though. As bulb replacements go, they are right up there with the Mtec IMO |

the post with that 5.1 in the direct sunlight is the best you are going to get OP for $200 or less. that's how visible it will be in direct sunlight and for the e90s there is nothing brighter than that unless you go with LS3 or OSS

Don't want op to be misinformed..but the post with the lux 5.1 installed pics are said to be malfunctioning, not on, or just aren't lux at all...per the comments by mds the owner of lux in another thread.
Cause those are the dimmest ae I've seen. Last edited by nood1es; 11-20-2010 at 06:23 PM.. |
