depo smoked blackline LED install question/problem
hey all,
recently purchased a set of smoked depo LED blacklines and what appears to be some resistors from a member here that came with no instruction. I got the LED on the car now. With the Stock taillight, there are 4 light bulbs on each side connected. But the LED taillight only have 3 LED connectors, which 3 do I connect? the turn signal one is obvious on the top and other two I'm confused with since there are 3 holes. I tried switching them around, one of them I get no light when the headlights are "on" But works with brake light. The other position I have on, The taillight *sometimes* lights up and sometimes doesn't??? It doesn't light up then I step on teh brakes, then everything lights up then the taillight stays up??? The taillights came with 4 resistors/blackboxes, one of them have 2 connecter and the other 1 have one. I just connected them all of them into the taillight's connector, is this what I do? I tried googling everywhere and there is no LED blackline install instructions. Also I'm getting the taillight warning malfunction on both left and right side |

hi,
they have 'depo' printed on the inner sides. The back of the taillights look exactly like these http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/p827...duct_info.html I got 4 blackboxes (resistors?) two of them have 2 plugs and 2 of them have 1 plug. I just randomly plugged them all in, is that all I do? for those that know. and as seen in pic there. My tail lights are doing some really weird things right now, they are going on /off in random order. the driver side inner trunk light didn't light up at one point, then i stepped on the brake a few times adn it lit up. Then the otherside will go off till I step back on the brakes... |

The resistor boxes for those go in specific places and the plugs are designed so you can't mixup the install. However, some cars still throw errors with the resistors so you need the Anti Fail kit to prevent that.

Hi Nick, is the anti fail kit the anti flickering kit on your site? Reason I didn't suspect this will fix it is because my lights do not flicker at all.. but sometimes some of them don't come on.

And if I still get errors, even with the resistors and anti-fail? Everything worked fine (minus the codes) BEFORE i've put the antifail; and nothing changed. So that kit was basically a waste. I learned that the only way to get rid of them is to code them, but it kinda $$?%$ me when they're advertized as "error-free".

Mine didn't flicker, but didn't come on too. The anti flicker kit worked and now Everything works great for the past year.

I know coding solves the issue at a 50/50 ratio; depending of the build of the car. Mine will most likely fail.
But the point is that i've paid for peace of mind and I'm not having it. I look like a rave everytime I start up my car; not so pleasant.

Are you just posting to b@#ch or looking for a solution? There are two solutions presented to you that others have confirmed worked. What more is there?
