2006 e90...brake pads and rotors
Hey guys,
Its about that time to replace my front and rear pads and rotors. I drive a 2006 325i, and I got a quote from my dealer for $1498, and a quote from a local indy for $850. I've been looking for front and rear sets to buy, on the forum and ebay, and I'm planning on replacing them myself. (labor costs at the dealer are just rediculous lol) Have any of you bought brake sets on ebay, or any other website? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance, I appreciate the help.

I recently purchased Akebono Euro Ceramic brake pads at www.placeforbrakes.com, and they had the best prices , no shipping or taxes.
And I also recently purchased the Bentleys 2006 E90 repair manual at http://www.bimmerzone.com/BMW_Servic.../BNT-B309.html and they had the best price, no shipping or tax. Hopefully this has helped to save a little money. Quote:

I got a full set (front and rear) rotors and pads for about $400. Rockauto.com for the centric rotors, and I got some ceramic/titanium pads from brakeworld.com I think. You might want to try the cool carbon pads though, one of the vendors here offers a good deal on them

If you're looking for upgraded pads, Cool carbon pads have been great for me, maybe you should try them out. Here's a review by Mr. 5, a moderator on this board:

Stay away from rebranded eBay brands....they are shitty quality.
Stay with the names....Hawk, Pagid, Stoptech etc. I got my rotors and pads from Tirerack. They sent me the wrong pads but they sent the correct ones overnight. I think I paid around $500 for front and rear rotors, and rear pads. I already had front pads. (Both sets are ceramic, Hawk and Axxis) Also don't forget to get sensors. You'll need a front and rear one. And remember to turn your hand brake off....stupid me was hitting my rotors for a half hour before I realized the hand brake was keeping them on. |

Thanks for the info guys.
**********s, does that brake kit come with new sensors? Or would I have to find them somewhere else? I'm very interested in your kit tho.

The kit does not include brake wear sensors, however, StopTech does have them available for your car. Take into consideration that you do not have to replace your brake wear sensor unless you already have a dash warning to change out your pads. Feel free to shoot me over a PM or give me a call here at ************** x 8006 if you guys have any questions at all and I'll be more than happy to help you guys out!
