FS 2007 328i 6spd Wagon, Oregon
I just bought this car about three months ago and really don't want to sell it. We're having our third child (bonus baby) however and three car seats just don't fit across the back seat. Car was tastefully modded before I got it: - 19" TSW wheels with newer tires - Shaved luggage bars - Roof painted black - M-tech front bumper - Lowered, not sure what combo the suspension is but it rides nice - Nifty front license plate holder so the bumper has no holes. Everything on the car works as expected. I just had a full alignment done and it drives straight as an arrow. Just put in new all weather mats front and rear but not in the cargo area. Car has just over 43k miles on it. It's a nice rare combo of the E91 platform with a 6spd manual. Really ideal if you ask me (if only is sat three little ones). I can get more pics of anything if there are requests. I have maintenance records and a carfax. Looking for $25k OBO. New here so until I have 5 posts I can't use the IM feature, just post in this thread and I'll respond as quickly as possible. |

Here a 2007 with that mileage would be about $18-20K privately. Sadly, a manual is a negative in most of the US. Many simply won't consider one and it limits your market to enthusiasts. Fewer bidders = a lower price. Econ 101.
And that pice is without the mods. While you may think it's tastefully done that look would be considered extreme by the typical person out there who might be looking for a wagon. Many times ANY sort of aftermarket work they will shy away from, and in this case black wheels, custom paint, and an extreme lowering go beyond the norm for simple mods. Limiting your market to only those who think black wheels, custom paint work, and a slammed look are positives means about 90% of the market for a BMW wagon won't even consider yours. If I wanted to get top dollar for it I would sell the wheels on it and buy a set of E90 type 17-18" OEM takeoffs cheap on ebay. I'd also pay a shop to remove the springs on there and put on a set of springs that lower it no more than about 1.5" to where it has a typical bmw "sport package" look. Then sell the sport springs you had on it for a little cash. New sport springs are maybe $250, so if you can do the work yourself it's cheap. The roof paint will send many running as well, but it's probably beyond undoing. Looks fine to me, but again most just aren't into that. Or, keep looking for the guy who values this sort of setup and is willing to pay thousands more for it. But keep in mind most guys realize they could buy a regular used '07 and just do the mods to their own liking. I just think your price is unrealistic for a car with 6 months or so of remaining warranty and a non-traditional look. My guess is if you took it to a dealer for an appraisal saying you wanted to sell it to them you'd get $12,000-$15,000 as-is. Last edited by BrunoT; 11-14-2010 at 12:00 PM.. |

Thanks for the input Bruce. I'm looking for the 10% of the market that is interested in a car like mine. I'm not in a particular hurry and feel my price is fair. Also has those three little letters OBO after the price.

I love it bump.
I would make an offer but 2 road blocks... 1. Wife can't drive manual and refuses to learn, bummer. Also would be her car anyways 2. No xenons. Sick car otherwise. Good luck with the car and the litter of kids.
