Okay, folks. We 328i folks live here too!
I was looking at the VW GTI and the Acura MDX before I bought my 4th and current BMW, a 2007 low-mileage CPO 328i. My other BMW's were a 1993 325i, a 2002 325i and a 2005 545i. (Of course I meant what other cars did you look at? I need a proof-reader! ) |

Before buying an CPO E92 328i I narrowed my options down to the following:
-CPO E92 335i -CPO Infiniti G37S Coupe -NEW Suburu WRX Wagon Loved the power of the 335 but ruled it out because of the HPFP issues. The Infiniti was a good value, but the 6MT's aren't very refined and it just doesn't drive as well as the bimmer. The Suburu would've been the most practical choice (good utility and reliability) but the AWD and straight line speed didn't make up for the cheap interior and sloppy handling. A year later I'm still happy with my decision. Yes, I still wish I had a few more HP at my disposal, but for the piece of mind I'll take the tradeoff. For a daily driver I feel it's a great choice. |

I only looked at an A4. The back seat was way too small on the A4 and I liked the sportiness and appearance better on the 328i.

Before buying my 330i (It's close ) I had no idea what I wanted. Mercedes C, SLK, Audi A4, VW GTI, BMW Z4. Finally settled on a slightly used 330i, had right miles, the options I wanted, plus it came with a stickshift.

335i here but whatever. I was about .01 seconds away from a Lotus Elise. Made an offer, the dealer called 2 days after saying they'd take it. In that time though I really realized that for my one and only car, the Lotus would probably be more of a nuisance than it was to enjoy. So I said I'd changed my mind. Then I was going for a Z06 - insurance had other ideas. I readjusted my price point and began shopping G35/37, A4, 528, and 328. Test drove a 335 and the rest is history.

well back when i got the 330 the audi S4 was in the same price range, almost go it but liked the way the BMW looked more and i thought the interior was a lot more refined.
The C350 was on the list and then also considered porsche cayman but the BMW just seemed like the better car plus the no maintenance was a big plus |

prior to 330I purchase (close enough) looked at '06 Acura TL and 07 Lexus is350.
didnt drive either though, as just the results of my reliability research and user feedback led me to the 2006 330i. |

Audi A4, G37s, Merc C300 4matic, and possibly another Subaru (had a WRX and an Sti) before the bimmer. I was close to the G37s but I had always wanted a BMW and just loved the way it drove. A bit of a power downgrade from my Sti -- but this car has it all....

audi a4- always wanted an audi with the awesome LEDs... but i didnt want a 2.0 I4
merc c300- nice brand, but not as sporty as BMW mitsubishi evo- $33K base price for a mitsubishi?! nahh... too expensive for a japanese track car... CPO E46 m3- i was kinda afraid the previous owner had tracked the car too much/abused it.... so int he end, i got a e90 328i and im pretty satisfied, except i wish it had a little more power |

...where the 330i shines--best of both worlds
anyway, e60 545i, e36 m3, e46 330ci, b6 s4, mkv gti, <06 jag xk, G35S, IS250/350. Lot of choices; I was simply looking for the best deal possible on a good, clean example of any one of them, took my time, and got my 330i mostly because of the deal--I wasn't expecting to afford a 330 (wouldn't have gotten 325/328) I actually put money down on an e36 m3 but seller backed out...still wonder how that would've turned out. |

MB C300 - wasn't impressed by the interior
E39 M5 - too worried about the maintenance costs Volvo V70R - Really wanted one with a 6MT and Nav, but never could find a good one Saab 9-3 Aero Sport Combi - I've owned several Saabs, but their future is too uncertain VW GTI 5 door - I just couldn't bring myself to go back to VW again |

Um, before buying the '11 E92 328i, i narrowed it (somewhat) to:
Buick Regal CXS (Loaded) -- Beltline too high for me and my vertically-challenged self. Need a pillow to see out xD! But it was pretty Lincoln MKS 3.7 (Loaded) -- Again, Beltline. But the interior is SO FCKING NICE!!! It's supportive up front and town car-esque in back. Jaguar XF 4.2 (Unloaded-wallet would hurt) -- Very, VERY pretty car. Feels big and heavy, not the nicest interior, 54 grand for hardly anything... BMW 328i LCI Coupe (Pretty Loaded) -- Nice little car. Goldilock's car. Not to big, not to small. Pretty, fun to drive, cost-effective. Good SIGHTLINES. |

i was looking for a nice little coupe...
G37 sports - this was one of my choices, since i liked how it came with good options and horsepower for a decent price. 335i e92 - this was my first choice, since i liked the speed, but one thing that bugged me was that it had too many problems with the turbos or fuel pump from what i read, didn't want to buy a used one, then come out of warranty only to have something fail and cost me thousands... 328i e92 - i settled for this since i figure i'd have less problems, also it came loaded, compared to what i could of gotten from about the same price as a 335i.

Initially I had quite a long list but narrowed it down to these:
Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Mercedes C300 4matic Acura TL-SH AWD Inifiniti G37X Lexus IS250 AWD Cadillac CTS AWD Hyundai Genesis sedan 3.8 Test drove all of them, but in the end the 328i xDrive was my choice as I just found it to be a better all-around car than the others.

This was back in 07
G35 Had bad experiences with these cars but checked out the 07 coupe. Didn't like the way it looked inside. Wasn't all that peppy and didn't handle that well. IS250 Didn't bother looking at it since I don't have a vagina. This car is as girly as you can get. Audi A4.. Never made it to the dealership. Acura TL.. Looked ok.. Interior was decent but I did not want to waste BMW money on a suped-up, front wheel drive Honda Accord. Needed a car asap and the 328i looked sweet. Now BMW has a customer for life.... |

E46 xi - honestly, that's it. But they were getting harder to find CPO/low miles and I think it would have been a little redundant with my E46 convertible.
I might have looked at a G35x but there are no Infiniti dealers in Vermont. Love my 328xi, no regrets, never looked back.
