Issues with 2009 Nav
I've had this issue for awhile now. But basically when driving, sometimes the Nav will all of a sudden change course and tell me to make a wrong turn or exit the highway. Basically getting me lost when i was clearly going the right way. Sometimes the Voice may tell me to exit or keep left or right when the map is telling me to go straight, basically not matching up with what the map is telling me to do. Does this happen to anyone? Does warranty cover these things?

I have no issues as you described. The only issue I have with the Nav is locating a place that I know is a few miles away and the map continues searching hundreds of miles away when I know the place is right around the corner. A software update will fix the problem that you have described, but as for me, I just haven't had the time to take my ride in to fix the search issue.

Driving from NYC to East Brunswick NJ (and back) on the NJTurnpike today..
Nav tells me to get off at every exit and then get right back on! Have tried all the different settings, Shortest route, Fastest, etc... Doesn't make a difference. I have taken pictures and videos of this and still no resolution from BMW. I love my car and am planning to buy a 2011 next year (have a 2009 328xi coupe on lease) but if I ever get any type of survey about the Nav function.. they will not like my response. For a system that costs $2100 (INav/IDrive), this is unacceptable. BMWNA, you're probably reading these posts... fix this! Always motch PS> How does BMW expect to sell these 2009's as they come off leases as CPO cars if they have 2+ year old databases?! They are setting themselves up for a hell of a bad PR attack. |
