MOT
Do all AUC come with MOT cover where applicable ? and if they do, is there any document provided for it or just take the car to any dealership and they will do the MOT without any charge ?

They would have to, or would be supplying a car that is illegal. There are probably some details on the main website related to the AUC program as to the minimum duration that would be supplied.

It may have changed, but mine didn't come with cover.
The car came with a year's MOT, even though it wasn't even 2 1/2 years old! Shame they screwed up and put the wrong VIN number on the ticket, resulting in lots of paperwork. Interestingly, the dealership wasn't an MOT station - they farmed it out. |

Most BMW dealers are mot test stations and as a rule all AUC cars come with a full 12 month mot cover. I bought my car on the day I test drove and they didn't have time to mot it but it had 7 months left on the previous one so they gave me an mot credit notice which got me a free mot when the current one ran out.
As part of the sale you should have a 12 month mot note. |

If the car doesn't have an MOT when you check it out as part of the AUC and the dealer will only give you what's left on its current certificate, walk away. As mentioned above, they should all come with a full year's MOT from the point of sale, especially if the MOT has run out whilst it was sat on the stealer's forecourt.

Where applicable, yes as 12 months MOT is part of the AUC preparation for any car they resell.
However, some Dealers will give you a 100% credit if the MOT is say more than 4 months away, but generally you will have to take it back to that specific Dealership. My Father in Law bought an E90 in the earlier part of this year and the Dealer gave him the option of an MOT at point of purchase or 100% credit when it fell due - he took the credit as there seemed little point in MOT'ing a car that was 2.5 years old 6 months early. |

Ok. I bought the car this August and it was MOTed couple of days before I collected it but while checking the paperwork I found that it was MOTed in May as well as it was June 07 Reg. So basically it was MOTed twice, in May and again in August this year. Doesn't that sound confusing ?

Its been done within a few months of the first so that you have the full 12 months MOT which the dealer is required to provide.
Stupid but thats what they have to do. |
