Heated Steering Wheel swap for M-Tech possible?

We just turned in our X5 and decided to go back to a 335 (had a 07 335i previously). This time we opted for the 335d (auto/sport/paddle shifters) and it also has the heated steering wheel. Does anyone know what the part # I need to get a M-Tech or M3 heated steering wheel that will allow me to retain the paddle shifters? Does this part even exist?

I've search the forums and google without much luck so far. Thanks for any help.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, but if so, you should consider a few things:

-Is the heating element present only in steering wheels with that option, or does it exists in all steering wheels, and is just not connected to anything? You may have to purchase that specific wheel with the heating element built in.

-Does the column and clockspring harness already have provisions for the heating element circuit or does it need to be added? You may be looking at additional parts replacements outside of the steering wheel-- figure in a harness/relay, possible new clockspring, column switch and supporting cosmetics.

I don't have an answer, but if the provisions for the steering wheel heater is not already built into the column, harness and/or wheel, the swap can get costly or too complicated.

Oh boy, I didn't even think of that. I have the heated steering wheel too. Guess a custom M3 style steering wheel is out of the question for me too. Good lookin out!

I believe that if you chose the M-tech wheel in your options, you could not get a heated steering wheel. Not sure if there is an M3 heated version or not.
