LED Switchbacks for turn signals
Kinda surprised, did a search and came up with nothing here. Has anyone installed switchback LED's for their turnsignals? They were all the rage on the acura forum (I had a TL-S prior the 335)... but don't find anyone using them here.
Basically it will illuminate white, but when you turn your turn signal on it flashes orange since the blinker runs on a 3rd wire (1 is ground, 2 is parking light, 3rd is blinker). Video what it they look like. Music is a little annoying... http://img532.imageshack.us/i/switchbackledsr3.flv/ http://autolumination.com/switchback.html I'm thinking of getting them for my car... but with the AE's I'm wondering if white turn signals will wash them out.

Pretty sure those bulbs have a low lumen rating around like 200 lumens....basically invisible during the day. It may be brighter but I have been researching LEDs to make my own custom LED angels eyes.
the reason we can't seen most LED upgrades is because of the lumen rating (around 400-500 lumens) and that fact that the color is about the same as sunlight. I've found 1000 lumen LEDs but I'm not sure how I will power them/dissipate heat. I would like to run them at about 700mA but that will produce lots of heat... |
