My day at Huntington Library (56k beware)

I went to the Huntington Library this past weekend and it was beautiful. Heres some of the shots i've gone through so far. Most of these images are un-altered except a few adjustments here and there.

my favorite is 1 and 3.

but you should have used narrow aperature on #1 so that two flowers will be in focus. the top flower is a little bit blurry.

the third one, your whole photo is blurry..i guess shutter speed wasnt fast enough.

You really want someone experienced doing your wedding. Someone who has done weddings before and is well versed at it. Ideally, it's a once in a lifetime thing so you do not want to skimp out on a photographer.

Nothing against Lawrence as he's a fantastic photographer and a friend but you really want a professional IMO.

I recommend:
bumataystudio.com

He also teaches wedding photography at Cypress College. He was my former coworker and a great guy.

AWESOME real close to where I live. North of the library is a nice road named Shenandoah which is great to take.

A bit blurry for the first pic. Did you set it to macro mode or not? I think you should have used a tripod.

That's called DoF/Bokeh man. DSLRs don't have a macro mode.

I like #5, but I think I would have composed it a bit different. Half to a third of the picture on the left side is an uninteresting green bush. I might have tried a portrait composition, moved the bench to the left corner, pulled in more of the sun, and used a gradient filter to blance the sun with the shade.

Good work none the less!

Macro mode! Ahhhhh....I hate point and shoot cameras! However, it is a touch soft for what is in focus. Maybe at the limit of the lens' close focus ability. Either way, ALWAYS use a tripod!!! Or at least a monopod.
