code 10716 Oh what fun.

well on the way to work today I threw code 10716 all of a sudden the car went into reduced power mode..scarred the hell out of me as I was traveling done I40 at about 80mph and then all of a sudden it was like someone slammed on the brakes. Very irritating along with being a safety issue. I reset the ECU and cleared the code to see if would happen again. It did 3 more times in under 2 miles. I will limp her home today after work and take all the mods off and call BMW first thing in the am and take her in. Hopefully they will replace the HPFP this time as I have already had the reprogramming.

called service this morning and the soonest they could get me a loaner is the 27th...REALLY! That is ridiculous for a 50k car under warranty.

Will they cover a rental? My dealer doesn't have many loaners available for non-scheduled service but if the car crumps out they cover the cost of a rental till it's ready. I think loaner policy is dealer specific but you may at least ask.
