Anyone have experince with Nankang NSII tires?

Anyone here using the Nankang NSII tires on their car? I purchased some 19's and I am looking to save money on tires, I found a good deal from a local tire shop for Nankang NSII

107 per tire for 235/35/19s, and 125 for 265/30/19s.

Nankang tires have a very poor reputation. I guess you didn't bother doing a Google search before you bought them.

IIRC, the Nankangs are Korean but tend to test worse than the Chinese Ling Longs.

Here is a review of the Ling Longs

I asked myself that same question and came to the conclusion that Hankook V12's would be my next set of tires after my OEM Bridgestone RFT's go to hell..

Honestly just buy decent tires, you're better off spending an extra 20/tire.

iBoost - the v12s are about 50 extra per tire, about 200 more total. trying to save for other mods I am planning on using these tires for daily use, no track use/extreme driving. I googled the tires and got mixed reviews.

nankangs are crap, and downright scary in the wet.

I've used Kumho as a 'budget' tyre before and they offer good levels of grip, especially when running a 265 on the rear and they are good value.

Check out their KU31 for a street performance tyre or KU36 for their semi slicks.

I have Nankangs mounted on a set of old wheel on one of my cars so ill break it down for you:

Pros:

-cheap
-hard rubber compound, so they tend to last decently long

Cons:

-Low grip (especially in the wet)
-Noisy
-Very heavy tires

My .02 ..

I have had 2 sets of the NSII. I use them on my E36 commuter 225/18/40 all 4 wheels.

-good tread design
-good in the wet (i'm in Seattle )
-most quietest tires i've rode on. This is because they have soft side walls (Kumho was the loudest...like a freight train)
-decent in dry conditions but honestly I really haven't pushed them hard...like i said it my commuter.
-they're no heavier that toyo T1R in the same size
-lasted about 27k ..again just commuting ... mostly freeway miles
-Great Price!!! (1st set was $250 shipped on ebay...2nd set $270 shipped)

Give them a try....contrary to what people are saying here(most with no experience with them), I think they will surprise you! again these are NSII ultra sports in 18"

Good Luck

thank you for the feedback, I was searching through the web and would find some reviews saying they're quiet and others saying they're noisy! I may end up getting general exclaim UGP's
